Pakistan (officially the Islamic Republic of Pakistan) is a sovereign country in South Asia, positioned at a critical crossroads connecting South Asia, Central Asia, and the Middle East. Boasting a coastline along the Arabian Sea in the south, it shares land borders with India to the east, Afghanistan to the west and northwest, Iran to the southwest, and China to the far northeast.
