Supermarkets in the UK have limited the sale of cooking oil to two bottles per customer.
Report informs citing the BBC that such rules were introduced in the Waitrose and Morrisons retail chains. Tesco supermarkets have been allowed to sell three bottles of oil to one customer. Some stores have imposed restrictions on the sale of even olive and rapeseed oil.
The measure was introduced due to problems with the supply chain against the backdrop of Russia's special operation in Ukraine. The fact is that most of the sunflower oil in the UK comes from Ukraine. Now sellers are looking for a replacement.
According to Bloomberg, Tom Holder of the British Retail Consortium called the measure temporary "to ensure accessibility for all".
