Armenian woman from Khankandi: Residents of Karabakh didn’t know that Azerbaijani authorities were ready to ensure their rights

Residents of Karabakh didn’t know that the Azerbaijani authorities were ready to ensure their rights and they could stay and live there, an Armenian woman leaving Karabakh with her family told Report.

According to the resident of Karabakh, the Azerbaijani side didn’t exert any pressure on them; on the contrary, the actions of the leaders of the separatist regime forced them to do so.

When asked about her decision and possible return back, the woman replied that Arayik Harutyunyan’s regime forced them to do this. According to her, they did not know that the Azerbaijani government was ready to ensure all the rights of the Armenian population.

“We didn’t know about it. We heard about it from you. Why don’t we go back then? Of course, we would like to,” she said.

Her husband complained about the head of the junta and said that people like Arayik Harutyunyan “should be shot.”

The woman said that she was going with her family to her mother, who lives in Armenia’s Goris. “We were on the road for three days. Fortunately, the Azerbaijanis helped us and gave us water,” she said.
