Kazakhstan removes restrictions on wheat exports

Kazakhstan has removed restrictions on wheat exports, Report informs, citing the Agriculture Ministry of Kazakhstan.

Minister Yerbol Karashukeyev signed a decree to eliminate existing quantitative restrictions on exporting wheat and flour from the country.

From July 5 to September 30, a decree on export restrictions was in force in Kazakhstan.

Kazakhstani exporters have used 83% of their wheat export quotas and 66% of their wheat flour export quotas since the restrictions came into effect, FAS USDA report says.

The ministry reports that as of September 13, approximately 70% of the grain crops in Kazakhstan had been harvested. The average yield is 30% higher than last year.

Thus, the declarations regarding useful grain yield led to removing export restrictions.

On August 31, the inter-agency commission on foreign trade policy of the Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan adopted a decision to remove restrictions on the export of grain and flour from September 10.

Kazakhstan ranks second among countries that export wheat to Azerbaijan.
