The number of foreign tourists arriving in Azerbaijan this March for the Novruz holiday has decreased compared to the same period last year, the Tourism and Services Commission, which operates under the National Confederation of Entrepreneurs, said at its meeting.
According to Report, the organization did not provide any data to support the claim of a decline in tourist flow during the Novruz period.
The meeting focused on the current situation in the tourism sector and the industry's prospects for 2025.
It was also noted that, although the overall tourist flow to the country increased by 30% in 2024 compared to 2023, it still has not reached the pre-pandemic level of 2019.
Vice-Chairman of the Commission, Jeyhun Ashurov, emphasized the importance of developing regional tourism. He suggested that additional measures are needed to increase the number of visitors to the country.
