Turkish FM: Russia, Ukraine take crucial steps to implement decisions

Russia and Ukraine have taken significant steps to implement the decisions made at the first meeting between them, held in Istanbul, according to the Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, Report informs.
Speaking at the opening of the second meeting between Russian and Ukrainian delegations in Istanbul, Fidan noted, "President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is in regular contact with the presidents of Russia and Ukraine. Following the first meeting, based on our President's instructions, we visited Moscow and Kyiv, creating an opportunity to organize today's session. We have discussed the issue in detail with both sides."
The minister emphasized that the exchange of a thousand military prisoners was completed in a short time, and both sides adhered to the ceasefire: "In today's meeting, we aim to continue the terms and perspectives of the two countries regarding the ceasefire."
He also highlighted that they aim to take the issue of prisoner of war exchange one step further.
"We plan to take the necessary measures for a meeting of the leaders and aim to resolve mutual problems through dialogue. We believe it will be possible to pave the way to peace. Our main goal is to reach the desired result as soon as possible. We consider the US belief directed at these meetings important. Trump's determination towards creating peace has opened a new window of opportunity," Fidan stated.
