Sybiha: Zelenskyy-Putin meeting is under preparation

The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry is working on a meeting between the presidents of Ukraine and Russia, Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Vladimir Putin, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha said, Report informs via UNN.

"What we are also working on is a meeting at the presidential level. We admit that this meeting may be in an expanded format," he noted.

The minister recalled that the parties agreed to exchange prisoners of war and its implementation has already begun. Now, Ukraine is waiting for the Russian Federation to provide its vision of a future unconditional truce. A similar document is also being prepared in Kyiv.

Sybiha also noted that the Ukrainian side would very much like US President Donald Trump to take part in the meeting.

"We would very much like to see President Trump join in. And we always insist that Europe must be at the table of possible future talks," he said.

Asked whether Ukraine sees the Vatican as a venue for peace talks, the foreign minister said Ukraine is still interested in holding a meeting with Russia on ceasefire talks in the Vatican.
