President: Georgia subjected to unfair attacks by European partners

Georgia and its people are currently undergoing a crucial stage of state formation, Georgian President Mikheil Kavelashvili said at the opening of the spring session of the 11th convocation parliament, Report informs via Georgian media.

Kavelashvili noted that the Georgian people chose the path of peace and development in the parliamentary elections: "In recent years, the republic has faced unfair attacks from European partners."

"We must all understand that a peace policy and economic development are essential for bringing us closer to our Abkhazian and Ossetian brothers and sisters. This is an irreplaceable path," the president highlighted.

He emphasized the need for Georgia to maximize its strategic and geographical role.

Kavelashvili welcomed the new administration in the US under Donald Trump's leadership, stating that it has initiated changes to the "pseudo-liberal order" in the world.

"The processes in the US and the global reaction to them have reaffirmed to our society that Georgia is following the right policy focused on peace, national interests, protecting traditional and conservative values, and strengthening the role of Christianity," he stated.
