On May 2, the Armenian police detained about 200 demonstrators blocking the streets in the center of Yerevan as part of the civil disobedience actions announced by the opposition, Report informs referring to Interfax.

“At the moment, 189 people have been detained on charges of disobeying the lawful demands of the police,” police spokesman Edgar Janoyan said.

On May 1 night, oppositionists who had gathered in France Square in the center of Yerevan set up tents for a round-the-clock protest.

Earlier, at an opposition rally on May 1, deputy speaker of the Armenian Parliament, member of the Dashnaktsutyun party Ishkhan Saghatelyan announced round-the-clock protests aimed at the resignation of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.

Police in the center of Yerevan began detaining participants of an opposition protest rally demanding the resignation of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Report informs referring to RIA Novosti.

The opposition participants blocked the central square of Shaumyan. Law enforcement officers pushed the protesters aside, and then put several people into the car.

A reinforced police cordon was set up outside the government building in Yerevan.

According to the latest data, the police managed to unblock part of the central streets, the movement of cars along them resumed.
