The Kremlin said that US President Donald Trump's decision to extend the sanctions against Russia was expected, Report informs via Interfax.
In a statement to journalists on Monday, the Russian Presidential Spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said it would hardly be worth expecting another decision, especially since these are fairly automatic actions.
“We are at the beginning of our path to normalizing relations, to building them up virtually anew, so we did not have any inflated expectations on this account,” Peskov added.
Peskov also described recent talks between Russian President Vladimir Putin and the US president’s special envoy Steve Witkoff as “extremely useful.”
