First meeting of interparliamentary friendship groups of OTS countries to be held in Istanbul in May

The first meeting of the inter-parliamentary friendship groups of the member countries of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) will be held in Istanbul on May 5-6, said Chairman of the Health Committee of the Azerbaijani Parliament, the head of the Azerbaijan-Türkiye inter-parliamentary friendship group Ahliman Amiraslanov, who is participating in the Antalya Diplomacy Forum, Report informs.

He noted that this meeting is aimed at discussing the problems existing in the region and finding ways to solve them.

"In particular, we will discuss the coordination of the activities of the parliaments of the Turkic states. It is planned to discuss the problems faced by the OTS countries, including Azerbaijan's efforts to restore stability in the South Caucasus, efforts to conclude a peace treaty with Armenia, the issue of the return of Western Azerbaijanis to their homeland, etc.," Amiraslanov said.

The MP added that Azerbaijan plans to host the second meeting in this format.
