Exclusion of Azerbaijan and Georgia from Brussels event leads to confusion, says European analyst

It is unfortunate and causes misunderstanding that other countries of the Caucasus—Azerbaijan and Georgia—were not invited to the meeting between Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, and the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, Andrzej Klimczyk, the founder and member of the Board of Directors of the European Union's Media, Promotion, Innovations, and Consulting Association MPIC in Georgia, told Report.

In his opinion, in order to achieve sustainable peace, stability, and development in the region, all three countries of the South Caucasus—Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Armenia—should participate in the process:

“The US Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, tried to clarify the issue by calling the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, on April 3. The Azerbaijani side rightly expressed its position once again openly. But I don't know what the full purpose of the Brussels meeting is,” Klimczyk said.

As reported, a tripartite meeting between Nikol Pashinyan, Antony Blinken, and Ursula von der Leyen will be held in Brussels on April 5.
