Venezuelan Prosecutor reveals new assassination plan on President

The Attorney General of Venezuela, Tarek William Saab, announced this Wednesday that two men who are members of the opposition political organization were arrested in the city of Maturín for planning the assassination of President Nicolás Maduro, Report informs, citing News Rebeat.

According to the magistrate, the crimes charged against the prisoners are those of “conspiracy and threats to murder” against the Venezuelan president.

These people have been identified as Whillfer José Piña Azuaje and Renzo Estibenz Flores started with these events in May 2023 and continued until today.

Among the evidence found by the authorities is the publication of a threat in a state of WhatsApp from Piña, who says that “in Maturín (where the Venezuelan president went on Monday), it will be the death of Maduro”.

On the seized phone “a conversation (by Piña) with Renzo Flores was found in which they spoke of groups of armed and hooded men” to proceed with the operation they were planning with other "people," whose names were not found in the text.

The prosecutor explained that, when questioned, Renzo Flores admitted that he had met Piña eight months ago and that he had told him a plan he was organizing with former colleagues from the Military Academy, consisting “of recruiting 50 soldiers to take a tank and the weapons park of a military complex to carry out a coup.”
