The United States will be ready to use military force against Iran, if necessary, US President Donald Trump said, Report informs via TASS.
"If necessary, absolutely, yeah," he told reporters answering a corresponding question.
He noted that the upcoming consultations with Iran will be only the beginning of a long process. "We have a little time, but we don't have much time, because we're not gonna let them have a nuclear weapon," he said. "I'm not asking for much. I just I don't wait. They can't have a nuclear weapon."
Oman will host a meeting between US and Iranian representatives who are expected to discuss parameters of the settlement of the situation around the Iranian nuclear program. Whereas The White House says that these will be direct consultations, Tehran says that talks will be held via mediators. The US delegation will be led by special envoy Steven Witkoff and the Iranian delegation will be led by Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi.
Meanwhile, Tehran categorically rejects any attempts at limiting its foreign policy and defense capacities, insisting on its right to develop peaceful nuclear energy program.
