Trump suggests Hamas needs to be 'confronted and destroyed' for hostage release

US President Donald Trump on Monday argued that the only path to secure the remaining hostages held in Gaza is through the defeat of the Palestinian resistance group Hamas, Report informs via Anadolu Agency.
"We will only see the return of the remaining hostages when Hamas is confronted and destroyed," Trump wrote on his social media platform Truth Social.
"The sooner this takes place, the better the chances of success will be," he added.
