Taiwan spots 5 Chinese warships, 26 aircraft in its vicinity

Taiwan's defense ministry on Thursday spotted five Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) navy ships and 26 aircraft in the region adjacent to the island, Report informs via TASS.

During the maneuvers, 11 aircraft crossed the so-called median line of the Taiwan Strait and the island's air defense zone. Among them are two Su-30 fighters, four J-16s, two JH-7 fighter-bombers, BZK-007 and WZ-7 drones, and a Y-9 electronic intelligence aircraft.

The Taiwanese military responded by raising air patrols, distributing radio warnings and deploying anti-aircraft missile systems.
