Following the presidential election, protests engulfed Nouakchott, the capital of Mauritania, as well as Nouadhibou and several southern cities, Report informs via Al Akhbar.
Mauritania held presidential election on June 29. According to the country's Election Commission, 55.3 percent of voters participated in the election. The current President of Mauritania, Mohammed Ould Sheikh Al-Ghazouani, secured 56.1 percent of the votes and was re-elected for a second term.
