Pakistan to form own missile forces

Pakistan intends to form a missile force as part of the armed forces, Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said, Report informs referring to local media.

He noted that the new forces will enhance the combat capabilities of the armed forces in war conditions and will have modern equipment. He added that these forces will be an important milestone in strengthening the combat capability of the Pakistani army. The head of government didn't provide any additional details.

In turn, a senior security official said that the missile forces will have their own command, which will be responsible for their management and deployment in war conditions. “Obviously, they are intended for India,” the official noted.

The last time tensions between the two countries grew into an armed condlict in April after the killing of 26 civilians in Kashmir, when New Delhi blamed Islamabad.

On May 10, US President Donald Trump announced that India and Pakistan had agreed to a truce.
