By July, the NATO countries can agree on the establishment of the Military Schengen system, which will allow the free movement of military units within the borders of the member countries of the bloc, Report informs, citing the Times.
According to the information, NATO leaders have been trying for many years to create a military equivalent of the Schengen zone, which allows the military of the participating countries to move freely within the borders.
Currently, negotiations are underway to open a number of military corridors in Europe. It is believed that it will be possible to achieve a positive result by the next NATO summit in Washington in July this year.
It was pointed out that NATO's current cross-border exercises often require a certain number of bureaucratic approvals, which could be critical in the event of a military escalation.
