A strong magnitude 5.6 earthquake hit 19 kilometers southwest of Pereira, a city in Columbia with a population of 440,000 people.
Report informs via foreign media that the quake had a shallow depth of 65 kilometers and was felt over a large region.
There have been no reports of casualties and damage yet.
