Poland’s Ambassador to Tel Aviv, Maciej Hunia, has been summoned to Israel’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs in connection with statements made by Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk and the Polish Foreign Ministry regarding the situation in the Gaza Strip.
Report informs via Israeli media that by order of Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar, an official démarche was delivered to the Polish ambassador by the head of the Political-Strategic Division.
“Israel firmly rejects these accusations and expects Poland to refrain from using terminology that distorts history and insults the memory of Holocaust victims,” the ministry stated.
The ministry emphasized that the state is fighting a terrorist organization whose goal is the destruction of Israel and the mass killing of its citizens.
“Israel acts in accordance with international humanitarian law and has significantly stepped up efforts to deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza, including humanitarian pauses, airdrops of aid, the opening of safe corridors, and the restoration of infrastructure — including in coordination with the European Union,” the ministry added.
“Israel looks forward to constructive dialogue based on facts, not Hamas propaganda,” the Israeli Foreign Ministry concluded.
