The US needs to first earn Iran's trust to resume negotiations on Iran's nuclear program, the Islamic Republic's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said, Report informs via TASS.
"The situation is now somewhat different and much more complicated than last time. The other side (US) needs to do a lot to earn our trust. So far, we haven't heard anything except beautiful words, but this is clearly not enough," Araghchi said in an interview with Sky News.
He noted that Iranian authorities are ready to listen to proposals from new US President Donald Trump, but more effort will be needed to convince Tehran to start negotiations on a new nuclear deal, especially considering the fate of the 2015 Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).
