Hegseth cancels visit to Israel

US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth has canceled his planned visit to Israel, which was scheduled for early next week, Report informs, citing The Jerusalem Post.
Earlier, the Axios news portal reported with reference to Israeli officials that Hegseth had planned to visit Israel ahead of President Donald Trump's trip to the Middle East. The Pentagon chief’s visit was expected to take place on May 12.
During the visit, Hegseth was scheduled to meet with Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz, as well as with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
The White House has announced President Trump's visit to the Middle East from May 13 to 16. His itinerary includes stops in Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates.
