Argentine, Chili stop lithium supply to Russia

Argentina and Chile have stopped the supply of lithium raw materials to Russia, Deputy Head of the Department of Metallurgy and Materials of the Ministry of Industry and Trade Vladislav Demidov said, Report informs, citing TASS.
“There is no production of lithium in Russia, the raw material is mainly imported from Chile, Argentina, China, and Bolivia as lithium carbonate. In the current situation, supply from Chile and Argentina has been suspended, and now we can only receive raw materials from Bolivia,” he added.
He noted that China has the potential to supply lithium, but the country has also experienced a shortage of supplies.
