President Javier Milei of Argentina has ordered the release of all documents related to the Nazis who fled to the South American country after World War II.
According to Report, Guillermo Francos, the chairman of the Argentine government, explained that Senator Steve Daines from the United States had been pushing for the publication of these documents, especially those related to the protection of Nazi criminals in Argentina. According to Francos, some documents, particularly those concerning bank operations, had not yet been made public.
The Defense Ministry is likely to hold the most significant documents, Francos noted, stating that there were no reasons to withhold this information.
Previously, Manuel Adorni, a spokesperson for the Argentine President's administration, confirmed that Milei also instructed the declassification of documents related to the actions of Argentina’s military during the 1976-1983 dictatorship.
After World War II, many Nazi criminals fled to South America, and Argentina became a sanctuary for figures such as Josef Mengele and Adolf Eichmann.
