“We felt a sense of pride that our Azerbaijani brothers were with us wholeheartedly,” Nasuhi Güngör, an employee of the Habertürk TV channel, told Report’s Turkish bureau.
Noting that Türkiye is currently struggling with the consequences of a major catastrophe, the journalist said that his country was supported by the whole world in this difficult time.
To the question: “Why is only Türkiye in the spotlight, while Syria is experiencing the same tragedy?”, as well as to the envy shown even in these difficult days by some foreign media for the support provided to Türkiye from all over the world, the TV journalist answered that in every part of the world where disaster strikes, Türkiye is one of the first to come to the rescue: “During the pandemic, Türkiye extended a helping hand even to the most remote countries. And it gets a response to the country’s compassion, humanism. Even now, Türkiye has not forgotten about Syria. Türkiye supports the initiative to send aid from around the world to Syria. We were sure that Azerbaijan would lend a helping hand in the very first minutes. That’s because relations between Azerbaijan and Türkiye are built on sincerity and brotherhood. We felt the same sincerity from other Turkic states."
