Eco-activist: International travelers witnessed that Khankandi-Lachin road is open for humanitarian purposes

International travelers, who are on a visit to Shusha, witnessed that the Khankandi-Lachin road, where the environmental activists are holding a peaceful protest against the illegal exploitation of mineral deposits in the Karabakh economic region of Azerbaijan, is open for humanitarian purposes.

An eco-activist, Seymur Mammadov, told Report that they informed the international travelers about the protest action.

According to him, travelers were informed that this is a peaceful action: "The travelers saw with their own eyes that the Khankandi-Lachin road is fully open for humanitarian purposes, and we have not blocked any roads. They saw that our main goal is to end environmental crimes. We told the travelers that we will not change our minds until our demands are met, and we, as participants of the action, expect our demands to be satisfied"

Another activist Riad Dadashov told Report that the foreign travelers asked questions about the action and its purpose: "We answered their questions. We informed that as participants of the action, we have clear demands that we have been putting forward for 55 days. We brought our demands to their attention. The travelers witnessed that the Khankandi-Lachin road was completely open for humanitarian purposes. Because at that time, a vehicle of the Russian peacekeepers passed through the road freely."

An international group of travelers from the UK, which includes representatives from 12 countries, has visited Shusha.

The 30-member group includes representatives from the US, Great Britain, Ireland, Belgium, Germany, France, Denmark, the Netherlands, Italy, Spain, Brazil, and Russia.
