Demining activities are one of the priorities for the Azerbaijani government, British MP Matthew Offord said during the 2nd International Conference on “Mine Action – the Path to Reaching the Sustainable Development Goals” has begun in Azerbaijan’s Aghdam, Report informs.
He noted that Azerbaijan has identified mine action as an important point for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.
Mine action must be taken into account in national plans, he said, adding that in this regard, the whole world looks to Azerbaijan as an example.
The remaining unexploded ordnance slows down the development of the economy and many other areas, he noted.
