Climate activists have sawn off the tip of the Christmas tree that stood in front of Berlin’s Brandenburg Gate, Report informs referring to Sky News.
Protest group Last Generation said two of its members used a hydraulic lift and a hand saw to cut two meters off the top of the 15-meter tree and hang up a banner.
The banner read: "This is only the tip of the Christmas tree."
In a statement, the group said it wanted to highlight that Germany is so far only seeing the "tip" of the climate catastrophe happening around the world.
Last Generation called on the German government to do more to tackle global warming.
Criticizing such protests, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz has called on the activists to show "a bit of creativity."
