Zaur Mikayilov: 90% of drinking water needs will be met by 2030

By 2030, Azerbaijan will meet 90% of its drinking water needs, Zaur Mikayilov, chairman of Azerbaijan's State Water Resources Agency, said on the third day of the Baku Climate Week (BCAW2025), Report informs.
According to him, by the same date, 95% of agricultural irrigation water needs will be met through more efficient methods.
"By 2040, we plan to achieve full coverage of both drinking water supply and irrigation. This will be achieved through modern technologies, new infrastructure projects, and efficiency measures," Mikayilov noted.
