UNDP Resident Representative visits Port of Baku

The UNDP Azerbaijan delegation, led by Alessandra Roccasalvo, UNDP Resident Representative a.i., made a visit to the Port of Baku, Report informs, citing the port’s website.

The guests were welcomed by Taleh Ziyadov, Director General of the Port of Baku.

Discussions focused on strengthening partnerships in environmental stewardship and ESG projects to accelerate the sustainable development initiatives of the Port of Baku.

It was mentioned that the Port of Baku was the first public company from Azerbaijan to join the UN Global Compact in 2022 to contribute the Agenda 2030.

Topics such as women's empowerment in port industry and the establishment of an SDG Impact measurement tool were also discussed.

UNDP and the Port of Baku will leverage resources to further engage the Alat community in social and vocational programs.
