Involvement of Japanese companies in Middle Corridor discussed

The possibility of attracting Japanese companies to the corridor to maximize the transit freight between East and West through the Middle Corridor was discussed within the framework of the visit of a delegation of global transport and logistics companies of Japan to the Port of Baku, Report informs, referring to the Baku International Sea Trade Port.

According to the information, representatives of the Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry of Japan, Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO), JBIC, and leading logistics and transport companies participated in the meeting.

On the part of Azerbaijan, Azerbaijan Railways and Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping Company (ASCO) JSCs, as well as officials of the Coordination Council for Transit Cargo Transportation, participated in the meeting. The guests were informed about the operative cargo transportation between Europe and Asia through the Port of Baku, which plays a leading role in regional communication. At the same time, the delegation was informed about digital solutions and tools to strengthen efficient and fast cargo transportation as a single mechanism in Azerbaijan's transit transportation management system.

The meeting participants also discussed the possibility of attracting Japanese companies to maximize transit freight between East and West through the Middle Corridor, which arises great interest globally.
