Baku metro to get new gen rolling stock in 2025

It is planned to bring 20 new generation wagons for the Baku Metro this year, Azerbaijan's Deputy Minister of Digital Development and Transport Rahman Hummatov said during a briefing on transport measures implemented in 2024 and plans for 2025, Report informs.
The deputy minister noted that in recent years, 7 metro stations and 1 depot have been built and put into operation in Baku:
"150 new generation wagons have been brought to Baku and put into operation. As a result, half of the wagons used in the metro are now new generation wagons. Significant work has also been done in the railway sector. The total length of constructed and modernized railway lines has exceeded 1,500 kilometers."
