Azerbaijan posts about 40% growth in passenger transportations

In January-February 2022, the freightage in the transport sector of Azerbaijan was 4.4% higher than the previous year, Report informs, citing the State Statistical Committee.
The passenger transportations were 38.7% up in comparison to a year earlier.
In the reporting period, 31.7 million tons of cargo were carried in the transport sector, 2.9% of which was transported by sea, 8% by rail, 0.3% by air, 55.3% by road, and 33.5% by pipelines.
The transportations in the non-state sector increased by 5.8% to settle at 76.5% of total freightage.
Over the reporting period, 225.1 million passengers were carried, 86.6% of which were carried by road, and 13% by subway.
