Table salt production in Azerbaijan slightly up

Azerbaijan produced 40,600 tons of table salt in January-July this year, 0.7% more than in 2022, Report informs, referring to the State Statistical Committee.

As of August 1, the finished product amde up 2.4 tons.

The demand for salt in the country is met by domestic production and imports. Domestically, salt is collected from Salt Mountain in Nakhchivan and the lakes on the Absheron Peninsula. As for imports, salt is mainly brought from Iran, Russia and Ukraine.
