Silver production up in Azerbaijan

In 2021, Azerbaijan produced 3,347.4 kg of gold and 4,859.6 kg of silver, Report informs, citing the Azerbaijani State Statistical Committee.
According to the committee, compared to 2020, gold production was 6.3% lower in 2021. However, silver production went up by 12.7%.
As of January 1, 2021, the finished products were 59.1 kg of gold and 62.9 kg of silver.
At present, gold and silver production in Azerbaijan is carried out by two companies. Azerbaijan signed a PSA (Production Sharing Agreement) on August 21, 1997. The agreement envisages the development of 6 fields - 1 in Nakhchivan, 2 in Gadabay, 3 in Kalbajar and Zangilan. Azerbaijan's share in the agreement is 51%, and Anglo Asian Mining PLC's share is 49%.
