During his visit to Sierra Leone, President of the National Paralympic Committee of Azerbaijan Ilgar Rahimov met with the leadership of the paralympic committees of Sierra Leone, Guinea and Liberia, Report informs, citing the National Paralympic Committee of Azerbaijan.
During the meeting, a memorandum of understanding was signed between Azerbaijan and the three African countries.
According to the press service of the Azerbaijani National Paralympic Committee, the meeting participants talked about the development of sports, the activities of the paralympic committees of their countries, and held extensive discussions on future cooperation.
Rahimov recommended that it is necessary to maintain international cooperation, and work with relevant government agencies and international organizations to ensure the sustainable development of national Paralympic committees.
At the same time, the event participants discussed the involvement of visually impaired people in sports, and the fact that Liberia and Guinea will soon become members of the International Blind Sports Federation (IBSA).
Then a memorandum of understanding was signed between the Paralympic committees of Azerbaijan, Sierra Leone, Guinea and Liberia. The memorandum envisages mutual cooperation and exchange of experience between the parties.
