Azerbaijan is ahead of many developing countries in the field of online services according to the E-Government Development Index, Chairman of the Agency for Innovation and Digital Development Farid Osmanov said at the International Scientific Conference of Researchers in Economics and Management.
Report quotes him as saying not only the Agency for Innovation and Digital Development, but also all government bodies are currently working to improve ratings in the field of digitalization: "We are making efforts to improve global ratings. In 2024, Azerbaijan ranked 74th in the world and 9th in the regional ranking according to the E-Government Development Index. We believe that next year we will improve this indicator. According to the online services index, we are currently in 27th place and ahead of many developing countries."
Osmanov emphasized that in the context of the rapid development of digital technologies in the world, the field of cybersecurity is becoming especially relevant: "Therefore, the government of Azerbaijan pays great attention to cybersecurity, data privacy and reforms in this area. Thus, in the National Cybersecurity Index, we are in 94th place among 100 countries."
