Azerbaijan is negotiating with the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) to join the global GovStack initiative aimed at developing digital government services, ITU Regional Director Natalia Mochu said during a panel discussion at the reporting event of the Online Azerbaijan project, Report informs.
"Online Azerbaijan" plays a key role in ensuring the availability of electronic government services. At ITU, we are developing the global GovStack initiative, within the framework of which a regional project on digital services was recently signed. Its launch is scheduled for about a month, and Azerbaijan is one of the participating countries. We have already discussed the project with the Innovation and Digital Development Agency of Azerbaijan and see a high interest in cooperation in this area," Mochu noted.
She also emphasized that support for digital entrepreneurship and the startup ecosystem remains an important area of interaction between ITU and Azerbaijan.
"The Innovation and Digital Development Agency is actively developing acceleration centers throughout the country. Thanks to the Online Azerbaijan project and its advanced technologies, people have more opportunities to study and work remotely without moving to large cities,” she added.
