Airbus: Innovations in space advance through collaboration

It is not possible to advance innovations in space alone, Joe Cotti, Sales and Business Development Manager at Airbus Intelligence, said at the Space Technology Conference (STC2025) in Baku, Report informs.

"Satellites are currently built by space systems at Airbus. At this conference in Baku, as a company, we are presenting our OneSat satellite and inviting interested parties to collaborate. We created this unique product by combining both the heritage of our large platforms and the new series that we now have. And why did we do this? The goal is to cover the very large market that currently exists," he noted.

According to Cotti, because OneSat can be fully reconfigured in orbit, is economically efficient, and fully electric, it allows coverage of every major market and every mission: "We will improve one key indicator, which is resolution. The satellite will provide better, or much better than 30-centimeter resolution results."

He believes that Airbus OneSat satellites are fully reprogrammable in orbit, modular, and software-controlled systems: "These satellites can be configured according to mission parameters while in orbit, making them more flexible and economically efficient."
