OTS member countries to draft oncology strategy

An oncology strategy for the member states of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) will be drafted, Hilmi Kodaz, head of the Eurasian Society of Clinical Oncology, told journalists on the sidelines of the First Congress of Oncologists of the Turkic-Speaking States Union held in Baku, Report informs.
According to Kodaz, lung and breast cancer are more widespread in the Turkic states:
"Within the framework of the event held in Baku, doctors fighting cancer in the Turkic world have come together. Joint cooperation opportunities in the early diagnosis, prevention and treatment of cancer will be discussed. A joint roadmap will be prepared here and various commissions will be established on its basis. These commissions will also form the oncology strategy of the member countries of the Organization of Turkic States," he said.
The First Congress of Oncologists of the Turkic-Speaking States Union is attended by scientists, specialists and officials representing ten countries of the world, as well as local and international organizations.
The Congress will conclude on June 14.
