The rapid application of information and communication technologies in healthcare makes it possible to develop unified e-health standards within the framework of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), Azerbaijani Health Minister Teymur Musayev said at the 5th meeting of health ministers of OTS member states held in Astana, Report informs.
According to the minister, the meetings held annually in different states with the participation of health ministers and scientists create a solid basis for establishing contacts with medical specialists from the countries represented in the organization, as well as with Turkic professionals operating in other countries, getting acquainted with their experience, and identifying opportunities for future cooperation.
Musayev noted that the main areas of joint activity are the creation of a single medical scientific space of the member and observer countries of the Organization of Turkic States, conducting joint scientific research, determining single medical education standards, and ensuring continuous medical education.
He also recalled that the OTS has played an important role in deepening relations and regional cooperation between the member and observer countries in a short time:
"The growing influence of the organization, built on four main pillars: common history, language, identity and culture, in the system of international relations is the result of the far-sighted policy of the country's leaders, mutual trust and support. The adoption of the Common Turkic Alphabet in September last year was possible thanks to the support provided at the highest level. This significant event will give impetus to the preparation of joint documents and the adoption of common standards in other areas in the future," Musayev said.
