US reaffirms support for swift Azerbaijan-Armenia peace deal

The United States has once again confirmed its interest in the swift conclusion of a peace agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia, the Principal Deputy Spokesperson for the US Department of State Tommy Pigott said during a briefing, Report informs.

Pigott said that US President Donald Trump and Secretary of State Marco Rubio had repeatedly expressed hope for a quick agreement between Baku and Yerevan. He added that both had emphasized this in their speeches and noted that the Secretary of State raised the issue at every appropriate opportunity.

When asked about the possibility of signing a peace agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia in Washington, as well as the US position on the Zangezur Corridor, the State Department spokesperson recommended waiting for the outcome of the upcoming meeting of the leaders at the White House.
