The 10th Global Forum, which is being held in Baku March 9-11, demonstrates the success of Azerbaijan’s aspirations to become the center of the dialogue of civilizations, Professor at ADA University Damjan Krnjevic, director for Policy Research, Analysis, and Publications at the Institute for Development and Diplomacy, told Report.
“Truly distinguished international leaders and experts attend and discuss the most important geopolitical and geo-economic issues we all face,” he noted.
“The topic ‘The World of Today: Challenges and Hopes’ is evidently well-chosen. I have heard a number of participants commenting on the fact that there is a disconnect between this expressed desire for peace and the positions taken by many countries in, say, the context of ending the war in Ukraine,” he added.
“Peacemaking, which is a task of diplomacy, is almost always a question of compromise. It is rarely about producing the total victory of one side or the total defeat of another. Having an opportunity to exchange views on these and similar weighty topics in Baku shows that Azerbaijan is succeeding in its quest to become a center for global dialogue.”
