The next meeting of high-ranking officials of Azerbaijan and Armenia is planned to be held in Brussels in May, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said at a meeting with participants of the international conference 'South Caucasus: Development and Cooperation,' Report informs.
The head of state noted the active role of the European Union, in particular the President of the European Council Charles Michel, in the normalization of relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia, reminding that two tripartite meetings have already taken place on the initiative of the EU:
“And also we regularly communicate by telephone. There is a plan to organize a follow-up of our representatives in the beginning of May, Armenia and Azerbaijan, again in Brussels,” Ilham Aliyev said.
The previous meeting of high-ranking officials of Azerbaijan and Armenia was held in Brussels on March 30. It was attended by Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan Hikmat Hajiyev, Secretary of the Security Council of Armenia Armen Grigoryan and EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus Toivo Klaar.
