The liberation of Baku was a turning point in the struggle for Azerbaijan's statehood, the Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) posted on X on the occasion of the 107th anniversary of Baku's liberation from the Armenian-Bolshevik occupation, Report informs.
"On this day in 1918, the Islamic Army of the Caucasus, which included the Azerbaijani Corps, entered Baku, putting an end to the Armenian–Dashnak occupation.
The liberation of the capital was a turning point in the struggle for Azerbaijan's statehood, demonstrating the unity, courage, and sacrifice of our people and their allies. 107 years on, we honor with deep gratitude the memory of all who gave their lives for the freedom and independence of our nation," reads the post.
