Azerbaijan's Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov and Secretary for Relations with States Archbishop Paul Richard Gallagher of the Holy See met in an expanded format, Azerbaijan's MFA said on X, Report informs.
According to the ministry, the meeting discussed prospects of bilateral and multilateral cooperation, regional and international security affairs: "Foreign Ministers emphasized the importance of joint efforts and initiatives to promote multiculturalism and inter-religious dialogue worldwide."
Bayramov said on X that they acknowledged the significance of activities of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation led by the First Vice-President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mehriban Aliyeva in various parts of the world, including the Holy See to safeguard global cultural and religious sites, as well as reiterated our commitment to further develop cooperation in this regard.
"I also informed my colleague about post-conflict regional reconstruction and peace agenda, landmine threat, existing challenges to the sustainable peace process, including continuing territorial claims and massive militarization of Armenia," Bayramov said.
