Azerbaijan's Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov has discussed bilateral relations and the regional situation with his Dutch counterpart Caspar Veldkamp, Report informs referring to Azerbaijan's Foreign Ministry.

During the telephone conversation, the importance of political consultations between the foreign policy departments for coordinating visits, contacts at international platforms, and developing cooperation was noted.

Bayramov informed Veldkamp about the process of normalizing relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia. He emphasized that to sign a peace treaty, it is necessary to remove obstacles, including territorial claims enshrined in the Constitution of Armenia, and Yerevan's position on the OSCE Minsk Group.

The minister also told about the trial of detained separatist leaders and noted that after anti-terrorist activities, Azerbaijan, showing humanity, allowed more than 10,000 representatives of illegal Armenian armed formations to leave the country. He emphasized that the charges against the detainees relate to crimes against humanity, and statements about unjustified arrests are groundless.

To confirm this, he cited the conclusion of the UN Working Group on Arbitrary Detention dated March 13, 2025, which rejects the claims of the Armenian side on this issue. The parties also discussed other issues of mutual interest.
