"Unfortunately, Russia uses all its military capabilities, except for nuclear weapons, to destroy Ukraine. Russia's claims that it is only shooting down military facilities have nothing to do with reality," MP Fazail Agamali, a member of the Parliamentary Committee on Legal Policy and State Building, told Report.
According to him, Russia is destroying not only military facilities but also kindergartens, schools, and residential buildings: "There are many casualties among the civilian population. There are even innocent children among them. The world calls and protests against the war are powerless to prevent the Kremlin's unprecedented aggression. In fact, Ukraine is in a worse position than Syria. Today, Ukraine is in a fair war for sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity. It is very unfortunate. It is impossible to remain indifferent to all this. For 12 days now, the heroic Ukrainian people have been resisting. Everyone must accept that any army can win over a weaker one. However, no world-class army can break the will of any nation and subjugate it forever. History denies this," the MP said.
He expressed regret that the Russian missiles rained down on the Honorary Consulate of Azerbaijan in Kharkiv. "As a result, there was destruction. Fortunately, no casualties were reported among our compatriots. This is also the aggression against the territory of Azerbaijan. The Azerbaijani state is quite restrained and wise. At the same time, the Azerbaijani people are making joint efforts with all peoples of the world to overcome the humanitarian crisis caused by Russia's aggression against Ukraine. The Kremlin and its military-political leadership must end the massacre of the Ukrainian people. The Russian side must hear the voices of those worldwide who say no to this war, sit at a table with the Ukrainian leadership, and show the will to solve problems peacefully. If this does not happen, Russia, along with Ukraine, will face losses, and its statehood will be in serious danger."
MP Jeyhun Mammadov reminded that the building of the Honorary Consulate of Azerbaijan in Kharkiv, Ukraine, was severely damaged due to airstrikes.
"The building was not a military facility. There was a consulate here. This attack should be considered a gross violation of international law and aggression. The Azerbaijani side is waiting for an explanation from the perpetrators," he said.
