Azerbaijan has taken steps to strengthen its own security while also advocating for a broader regional security framework, Hikmat Hajiyev, Assistant to President of Azerbaijan - Head of the Foreign Policy Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration, told a press conference in Brussels.
Report informs via EU Reporter that Hajiyev said regional security requires the cooperation of all stakeholders to address common challenges such as terrorism and organized crime.

He expressed Azerbaijan's readiness to work with international organizations and partners to address issues such as the return of displaced persons and the recovery of cultural heritage sites in areas previously occupied by Armenia.
Hikmat Hajiyev emphasized that Azerbaijan had consistently advocated for a peaceful resolution of ties with Armenia and had engaged in constructive dialogue with international partners to achieve this end. The 2020 ceasefire agreement has ushered in a new era of hope for the region, and Azerbaijan is determined to maintain the peace.
Hajiyev highlighted Azerbaijan's vision for the South Caucasus as an economic hub, emphasizing the role of regional connectivity, trade, and investment. Azerbaijan's ambitious plans for transportation infrastructure, such as the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway, underpin its commitment to the economic prosperity of the entire region.
